Since Nexus One- the introduction of NFC, Google has made it clear that they want to replace your wallet with Android powered phone. Today, they are a lot closer to achieving this said goal with Google Wallet Google Wallet is called an "open platform for for mobile payment". All you need to know is that the general idea to to enable you to leave your credit cards at home while using your phone as the payment method. Revealed at Google New York HQ, Google Wallet,according to Tilenius, the field trials will begin today and it will be official out this summer. As expected, it will be using NFC technology. By 2014, Tilenius notes that 50 percent of smartphones will have NFC built into them — that’s 150 million devices.
You can already add your MasterCard and Citi backed card, while Google continues to seek partnership with other companies.
The first trial programs will be in San Francisco, New York, and Portland this summer and Google already secured partnership with Macy’s, Subway, Walgreens, Toys R Us, among others.
